Leather Shop Factory did not begin in a boardroom. It began at the source — in the tanneries of Kanpur, where our family has worked leather for over a generation. This is the journey from raw material to finished heirloom.
Where it began — raw hide to leather
In the leather city of India, our family refined raw material into durable, finished leather through a meticulous multi-stage process — cleansing, conditioning, and treating, completed with vegetable or mineral tanning for the finest results. This is where the craft, and the family, was rooted.
Rebuilt for a cleaner standard
When the government mandated CETP and modern ZLD (Zero Liquid Discharge) systems across all tanning units, we did not resist the shift — we embraced it. We transitioned from a large-scale operation to a focused, small-scale unit built around the new environmental standard.
Scaling with modern equipment
A decade of refinement led to growth. We expanded our unit with modern equipment, raising both capacity and consistency — the groundwork for producing leather at a genuinely global standard.
A second tannery in Kolkata
To keep our leather processing efficient and cost-effective, we opened a second tannery in Kolkata — extending our reach into India's other historic leather hub and strengthening control over the full supply chain.
From tannery to finished products
Three specialists came together to make the leap that defines us today — from a tannery business to manufacturing finished leather bags. Decades of material mastery, now shaped into ultra-premium products carried by executives worldwide. Leather Shop Factory was born.

Leather Shop Factory was founded by three people who each command a different pillar of the craft — and together cover the entire journey of a piece of leather. Mubassir and Sharad are family friends; Sharad brought Himanshu to the table. The result is a seamless ecosystem with no outside link in the chain.

Mubassir Khan — Leather heritage. His family has mastered the art of leather tanning for generations, bringing the sourcing, processing, and material expertise the entire brand is built on.
Sharad — Design & production. A maestro with over a decade of hands-on experience, he turns exceptional material into refined, functional pieces — owning how every product is designed and made.
Himanshu — Sales & growth. A marketing veteran with twenty years of industry insight, he carries India's finest craftsmanship to a discerning global audience — straight to the customer's doorstep.
